Inaugurated in September 2025, the long-awaited park is open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. in May, and from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in June, July, and August.
The lawns are beautiful, the paths are beautiful, the wetlands are beautiful, and it’s wonderful to be able to walk, run, play, and picnic. But what about shade and refreshment?
“Unfortunately, it wasn’t possible to plant trees quickly; the agronomists had advised against it. We’ll have to be patient and wait for them to grow,” Leone Zilio, Councilor for Major Events and the Peace Park, shrugs. He also announces the imminent arrival of a temporary kiosk:
“It should be ready around June; it will be set up near the south entrance of Sant’Antonino by a manager who will be appointed shortly.”
There will likely also be tables, benches, and shelter. The alternative? “Shelter in the hangar structures or bring your own umbrella.”
The park on Via Farini has come to life again with “Fornaci Estate” starting April 18th. Until September, this green space will be open for dining, drinking, listening to live music, dancing, and much more.
Perfect, perhaps, after a visit to the Museum of the Risorgimento and the Resistance, open like all the sites in the civic museum circuit. It is located at the summit of Ambellicopoli Hill. It is a protected area, a natural, artistic, and historical heritage site. Adjacent to Villa La Rotonda, the educational nature reserve, with the first municipal plant nursery, was created in 1992.
In Maddalene, behind the old church of Santa Maria Maddalena, lies the enchanting natural scenery of the Seriola springs, a shady natural oasis full of paths, lakes, and groves, ideal for short hikes, walks, and bike rides.
Accessible from Viale Sant’Agostino along Via Ponte del Quarelo, this periurban forest offers a true oasis for walking or running. It is equipped with bike racks, benches, and a sign with a map of the area and the tree species present.
Located behind the Ferrovieri district, it is appreciated for its ring, a flat path ideal for walking, birdwatching or trips along the banks of the Retrone River.
The Casale “Alberto Carta” Ponds Oasis, which extends for approximately 24 hectares and has always been a point of reference for birdwatchers, is open exclusively on Saturdays and Sundays during the summer months, from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm.
